This assemblage is made of porcelain slip cast tangerine peels. Tangerines are a fruit eaten especially at Chinese New Year as the sound of the word in Chinese resembles good luck. Once the plump fruit has been eaten, the peel is discarded.

The peels have been re-formed to their original shape with some of the edges highlighted with oxides. They become a ghost of their former selves.
