These candlesticks were inspired by Chinese Tang Dynasty dancing figures. I wanted to find a way to capture the movement of the graceful dancers.

 

The glaze is a nod to the Tang Dynasty Sancai (three colours) ware which features colourful and fluid lead glazes. I love how the figures can be placed in any configuration so you can in effect choreograph them. The candlesticks  have the same possibility of arrangement.
