    Transformation time

My Buddhist teacher died last October. A lot of earth was dug out to make his grave and I was given two huge bucket loads. Such a gift. I processed this and discovered that the clay that was excavated was very pure and beautiful. I went about the long process of sieving it of sticks and stones, slaking it in water, and letting the slurry evaporate to become like clay. Then I went about testing it for shrinkage and resilience to the high heat of the kiln. Finally after decidin

New range of work: shrine sets

I've been working on a brand new range of work especially for meditators, yogis, or anyone who wants to practice in a peaceful, contemplative or ritual setting. These shrine sets comprise a vase, an incense tray, an incense/tea-light bowl, and seven small offering bowls. I've based them on what one would find on a traditional Buddhist shrine. In Buddhism, flowers symbolise impermanence, light symbolises wisdom, incense: the fragrance of a perfect life, and one would make sev

Countdown to the Slight Cube Gallery private view, sale, and a chance to enter a prize draw! Saturda

Only a few days to go before I host my first solo show at the diminutive Slight Cube Gallery in Bethnal Green, London. I'm busy painting a plinth and some shelves and doing those many little tasks in preparation including deciding which recipe I should use for vegan chocolate truffles! If you still need a bit more persuasion and the drinks and snacks don't entice you enough, I'm also having a prize draw on the night! For a chance to win a £10 voucher for Sassirika Ceramics, a

Inaugural exhibition at the Slight Cube Gallery, London. PV and sale on 25th November 2017.

I'm excited to be kicking off with the first of a series of rolling monthly exhibitions at the brand new Slight Cube Gallery. This gallery may well be London's smallest gallery and is to be found at The London Buddhist Arts Centre, in Bethnal Green in East London. The exhibition has just opened and I look forward to hosting a PV and sale on Saturday 25th November, 6-9pm. I'll be making chai and yummy shortbread to warm you up! I look forward to seeing you there! #Exhibition #

    Klay London

I am part of a ceramic artists/makers collective called Klay. We were originally a group of ten who graduated from the City Lit ceramics diploma in 2015, plus two other makers. On 3rd March 2016, we opened a pop-up ceramics shop/gallery called Klay at 18 Malden Road, London NW5 3HN which ran for nine months. It was part of Camden Council's regeneration initiative aimed at bringing creative life back to a disadvantaged part of the borough. Klay introduced ceramic art and craft

City Lit Ceramics Diploma Graduation Shows

A whirlwind and wonderful two years of intensive study of ceramics under top tutors culminated in our final shows in July. We exhibited first as part of the annual national design graduation show New Designers in Islington. This was followed by our own City Lit final show at Candid Arts Gallery just down the road. I feel so grateful to have been on this course and sad that we have come to the end! We made strong bonds as a group and will continue to support each other and hop
