A porcelain long stemmed bowl

This collection came out of a period of upheaval. I had experienced the point between control and collapse both physically and emotionally. Dance flashed back to me, particularly the play between balance and off-balance and the sensation of falling. I worked with the fluid movement of both the body and of porcelain, and pushed it to the brink of collapse.

My re-awoken issues of identity and belonging led me to look at my Chinese heritage. From a place of disintegration and doubt, I began to understand that feeling at home in one's own skin is pivotal to feeling at home in the world. I continue to
learn to accept and celebrate the imperfection, fragility, and beauty of being human.
